WHY I DO THIS.

This began as a way for my adult sons to follow the adventures of an old fool’s wanderlust.  A modern day version of the diary my grandfather kept religiously. A place to record my memories of people, places, and things coupled with the images captured with my Leica cameras as I “Walkacrossitall”.

Today most people are prone to turn to a screen to read short stories or view images.  If I would have printed all of these photos and wrote all of my musings in a proper diary it would have been impossible to share with family, friends or interested Leica shooters.

I believe we are all creatives to some degree, but how we express our creativity is developed over a lifetime.  The ability to visualize and compose moments that are better captured for posterity is addictive.  If we carry a camera, we look at the situations developing in front of us as moments that can be manipulated.  Composing moments through a lens has been both a hobby and a passion for well over 40 years.

As a person who loves to travel, it strikes me that my real memories of far off places should always come first. To  supplement those recollections I capture images for posterity.

It is a privilege for me to share these journeys.  I have high hopes that you enjoy your time wandering about this site.  I call Vancouver Island and now the south of France both home.

Feel free to check in often or leave your email address on the home page to get notifications of new posts.  Whether you visit here from the comfort of your recliner, hammock or desk (when the boss isn’t looking), I appreciate your visit.  No matter where you are in the world, I could be somewhere else.

Live well!
