Hot As Hades.
A behind-the-furnace look inside Wave Murano: where centuries-old Venetian glassmaking meets cutting-edge sustainability and a lively new design ethos. Through Leica lenses, this witty travel-photography story follows master artisans, low-energy furnaces, and the charming human comedy of a small-group factory visit that goes slightly sideways—revealing why Murano glass still matters, how innovation and tradition twine, and the gentle way Venice always manages to soften you.
From Provence to Bologna to Venice:Part One.
A winter journey from Provence to Bologna and on to Venice, exploring the world’s oldest university, wandering Murano’s quiet evening streets, and discovering the Venice most visitors never see. From 25,000-step days through back alleys and the Jewish Ghetto to the emerging university district reclaiming old warehouses, this is a witty, thoughtful travel photography narrative that reveals why Venice keeps pulling me back. Stay tuned for upcoming posts on Murano’s glassmakers and a sunlit walk along the Grand Canal.
Hamish Waits For Me.
On a grey winter morning in the Luberon Valley, we escaped the socked-in fog by climbing into the Forest of Cedars above Bonnieux, where brilliant blue skies and sweeping views waited just beyond the cloud line. Wandering with my wife and our black Labrador, Hamish, we explored quiet trails marked by the unmistakable signs of wild boar still thriving in the winter forest. Armed with the Leica Q2 Monochrom, I captured the stark beauty of Provence from altitude—cloud seas, cedar silhouettes, distant Alpine peaks, and the textured drama of winter light. This is Provence in its off-season: peaceful, wild, and wonderfully photogenic for anyone willing to climb a little higher.
